Calvary Christian Center
The Scriptures call us to love one another, outdo one another in showing honor, live in harmony with one another, instruct, greet, comfort, serve, bear the burdens of, forgive, encourage, always seek to do good to, exhort, stir up to love and good works, confess sins to, pray for, and show hospitality to one another. Believers may pursue these obligations to each other through many avenues, but the primary way we are to fulfill them is within the fold of this beautiful reality called the local church.
Reasons Why Should You Become A Church Member?
A place of commitment for the Christian.
It’s good to commit yourself to love and serve others. You will grow as a Christian as you commit to encourage, build up, strengthen, serve, and pray for other Christians.
Others are committed to you.
Becoming a member of a church means joining with an entire group of Christians who have now covenanted to watch over you spiritually. If you’re a member of a church you have an entire church full of people who are publicly committed to loving you and serving you and watching over you.
An Umbrella of protection.
As a member of the church, there are pastors and leaders who will care for you, pray for you, and personally counsel and teach you. As member of the church, they are accountable to God for how they lead you (Heb. 13:17).
Safety net.
Being a church member means that a whole church full of people are committed to helping you live a life that’s pleasing to God. Christians are there for one another according to Galatians 6:1. If another believer is overcome by sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path.
Assurance.
Membership is the church’s affirmation of the validity and genuineness of a person’s profession of faith.
